Lesson of Anty
Stop if you heard this before but I think there was lesson with the ant. The kids, especially Ron, grew to depend and like the little ant, even decided to let it go so it could go back to its family. Then the ant risk its life to save thiers.
Now its obvious that they would not be able to take down the scorpion since it was a lot bigger than them but at Ron's insisting and appealed to thier better nature (the ant is a kid and wouldn't be in danger if it weren't for them), they band together and are able to drive away the scorpion. Now typically, this is a triumphant moment, they saved thier friend.
Except they didn't, it was too late and they watched as Anty breathed his last breathe.
So what's the lesson? That sometimes you can't win, sometimes you can slay the monster but you can't save everyone. They couldn't save Anty after everything he had done for them and they tried to pay him back and face a great danger, but it wasn't enough and too late.
That is a pretty hard lesson to put into a family film.
