In the novel, doesn't the ant survive?


Does Anty really avoid being killed by the scorpion in the novel? Because that ruins the movie where he is killed by the scorpion instead.

There isn't even a scorpion in the novel. And yes, Anty does survive. And in the end they enlarge Anty as proof that the shrink ray works, and they bring him to another conference, where he proceeds to chase Prof. Fredricson around.

It's comforting to know that in an alternate timeline, Anty lived.

Whenever I watch this movie, I honestly fast forward the fight scene between Anty and the scorpion. It scared me as a child, but now as an adult, I just find it unpleasant.

I sometimes don't read the bottom of posts because I think it's a signature.

That sounds like an awesome ending. Then again, this is the opinion of someone who really wanted Anty to live.
