I don't understand why this didn't get any NES tie in or perhaps and Game Boy game (Seeing how both HISTK and the Game Boy both came out in 1989). The game would've been a great licensed game. You would play like 5-6 stages in the backyard and fight giant insects. I bet the scorpion would've been one of the bosses in the game. Too bad this got no tie in and I would loved to also seen a Honey I Blew Up The Kid for the SNES or the Sega Genesis.
Maybe because they could not think of ways to work some of the scenes into the film? I can think of some ways it could have worked.
Stage 1 - Attic Floor
Dodge falling debris, then run as fast as you can from the broom. Though that would be weird since you'd be swept up at the end anyway.
Stage 2 - Bees
This one would be difficult. Maybe controlling a bee and dodging blades of grass among other things? Or maybe make it a bos - s fight with a bee. Sometimes games deviate from the movies. This may have to be one of those cases.
Stage 3 - Sprinklers
Dodge water drops and run to the flagstone within a set time limit.
Stage 4 - Anty
Sort of like a boss fight, only you are trying to tire Anty out to catch him, rather than kill him.
Stage 5 - Scorpion
Boss Fight
Stage 6 - Lawnmower
Similar to the broom in the first stage, except you are trying to outrun the mower and get to the worm tunnel without getting sucked up. You would also have to dodge pieces of grass and other things which could slow you down.
That's the best I can come up with. I honestly can't think of a way to work the infamous Cheerios scene into a game stage, but there must be something that could be done with it.
