I just finished watching this film for the first time in probably 10 years and while the special effects in it are dated I actually prefer them to modern special effects. If this was made today it would be a CGI mess. I love those 80s animatronic effects.

I just finished watching this on Netflix and I thought the EXACT same thing. Give me a stop-motion ant over a cgi ant any day of the week!
