why was richard pryor mad at eddie murphy for this movie?

Maybe because it bombed at the box office or maybe it started during production...maybe Pryor didn't like the script or direction and since Eddie did EVERYTHING on this movie, all responsibility fell to him and Pryor knew that. Granted this is all speculation, but it's not hard to imagine sparks flying on the set between Pryor and Murphy, especially when Murphy had all the power where this film is concerned.

Ok for a more intelligent response: The film didn't bomb $$$ wise, critics hated it though.

Also realize that Pryor was suffering from multiple sclerosis at the time. He's kind of a passenger in all films after the late 1980s, both in front of and behind the camera.
