Do you honestly think that Don Vito, Sonny, Michael or perhaps even Fredo (and their gang, including Tessio, Clemenza and Neri) would have been outsmarted (killed) by Quick and Sugar Ray in this movie?

Depends on who wrote it. I think if it was written by an Italian person, Quick and Sugar would of probably been killed.
And then if it was written by a African American then the Italians would of got killed. Eddie Murphy wrote this so who ended up getting killed? The Italians.

It's ignorant to assume that because this movie is set in New York, the accents must be of Italians. All ethnic groups have that accent.

Well, every Cantone I met was Italian. Including a comedian named Mario Cantone.
shareWell, most likely this was WASP. In the 1930s Italians were not really accepted in society, or welcomed. As a result, there were hardly any in the police force. Most likely Cantone was a Scot (the name originated in Yorkshire, and in Northern Endland consider themselves Scots given the Border Wars).
