Title Change???

This might be a totally stupid question, and I have a copy of it on VHS so I never look for it, but I had heard that the title Gleaming The Cube was changed to A Brother's Revenge or something like that. Is there any truth to this, I've heard the rumor from different sources over time, so I honestly don't know.

Thanks.

Years ago, someone asked a tv guide almost the exact same question. They said that sometimes, when movies don't do well, they change the name for television airings. I guess they hope people will watch it without prejudice.

yeh i remember that...i think they called it another brothers justice..wierd i say

This situation is true for most movies.

But, for Gleaming the Cube? Not really. In my old TV Guide there is an aka refference of both titles on the same page when the movie aired on TV. I could scan for you as proof.

However, I don't know why the title was changed but your guess is just as good as mine.

I've seen it under that title, too. It was changed to "A Brother's Justice." How lame is that one?

reply

i saw it being aired on "lifetime" no less, i figured it was to appeal to women.

Are you serious? LOL! I'm sorry, I can't put Tony Hawk and Lifetime on the same page.

reply

it was a long time ago and my brain doesn't work like it used to, i might be wrong, but think about the naming conventions of lifetime movies and it sorta makes sense, alot of those movies have some sorta justice theme.

I actually saw it on HBO years ago as that Brother Justice title. It TRIED to use the same graphic as the original title, but it looked really lame.
