Actually, the first commercially-available portable computer was available in the mid-70s. The first laptop-sized portable computer became available in 1981. They looked much different but laptops have been around since the early 80s. And home computers most definitely existed in 1989. We got our first computer (a Tandy) in the early 80s. Home computers became available in the 70s. I can remember using computers at school in the early 80s. You need to get your facts straight.
