Anybody remember when this film aired on tv under that title?

I remember that as well and I have always wondered what the hell that was all about. A movie has one title and this is called gleaming the cube. If anyone can make any sense of this that would be great.

Probably because the studio blamed any failure on the skateboarding aspects, so they attempted to downplay those aspects when re-releasing the film on cable, so they went for the very generic title the summed up the plot of the film without calling attention to the skating.
