Did anyone find Jack Hardemeyer to be more despicable than Walter Peck?

Of these two people I thought Jack Hardemeyer was the worst nemesis of the two, I especially hated the scene where he sends the Ghostbusters' to a mental hospital.

reply

Yeah. He was pretty bad. I wonder if he believed the mayor when he said he talked with Fiorello LaGuardia? Probably not.

reply

He appeared to get incinerated in the wall of slime in a deleted scene - a fate much worse than Peck’s - who got gunked with marshmallow in his deleted scene.

reply

Huh? Peck got covered in melted liquid Marshmallow in the movie. Not in a deleted scene. Also that deleted scene of Jack getting sucked into the shell of slime is too weird. Plus it's from a segment that is way too similar to a scene in the first movie where the ghostbusters once again convince the mayor to let them do their thing while the antagonist Jack insists to him not to listen to them.

reply

Oh yeah, I got confused because Peck’s gunking is included in the deleted scenes as context for the Stay Puft hat floating down.

Jack getting incinerated in the slime wall might have been the only death in a Ghostbusters film had it stayed.

reply

Well I have heard though that he was supposed to come out of it alive at the end.

reply

Really? Where did you hear that?

If true then he would have been without shoes, which would have been mighty inconvenient on a chilly New York night.

reply

I can't find anything to back it up. But I have heard they were going to have him be alive at the end on a message board.

reply

Jack Coldfoot.
