Thought it would have been neat if the 'Pink Slime' was created by...

I always thought it would have been neat if in the film,
they revealed that the 'Pink Slime' was created by
the marshmallow residue left behind by Gozer/Mr. Stay Puft.

It would explain where it came from to begin with
(no explanation is given on film)
and would help tie the two films together even more.

I haven't seen the movie in years, but this is the explanation I recall. The pink slime is the physical manifestation of man's negative actions and emotions.

yeah the videogame sorta takes that idea that it wasn't entirely vigo that started the slime. its a bit confusing it has something to do with gozer.
