Look at the laser beams the GB shot at Vigo right after he comes out from his painting. There are two beams, and EVERY beam hits Vigo exactly on the front side.

But when they try to catch bigger, fatter ghosts like the Scoleri brothers or Slimer, they need a lot of time till they finally hit them! They didn´t hit Gozer, Slimer, Scoleri Brothers ... but they hit Vigo PERFECTLY!

Is there a rational explaination for that?

The ghosts aren't solid and are moving. You'll notice the same happens in the original. They can lock precisely onto Gozer and Stay Puft but not Slimer. The beams also go astray right before Gozer disappears (because she's moving to another plane and isn't solid anymore).
