There's almost no ghostbusting in this movie.

I decided to rewatch this movie after all the negative hype about the new movie. I'm not gonna get into the merits of this particular entry to the franchise (or lack thereof) but I was particularly struck by how little ghostbusting actually goes on. There's the court room scene, and then a quick little montage. And that's it. That's all the ghostbusting. That's not very ghostbustery.

Well the first movie also just has the Slimer scene and then them busting Stay Puft at the end. It's about the same. Plus, GBII is more about the slime, since we've already seen what the proton packs can do.

The entire ending is them busting vigo's ghost.

Not really, it´s more "Vigo kicking the Ghostbusters a$$, because the proton packs didn´t work and they didn´t use the positive-charged slime for some reason nobody gets".

That´s right. Even Bill Murrays said, it´s more slime them Ghostbusters.

Less ghostbusting, more romantic comedy and talking with babies - incredibly funny 😒

Bill Murray needs to get over it, Slime was all the rage back then. How terrible it must have been to be make millions of dollars in your ONLY iconic role because they wanted to introduce Slime Guns for the millions of kids who loved him. How terrible it must have been to be the star in a movie that helped usher in the golden age of Slime on Nickledon and shaped the childhood of millions of people around the world.

If you wanted a more serious movie you had your chance before Ramis died but you choose to insult your former castmates instead and now it's Paul Feig's turn to make it into Bridesmaids meets Scooby Doo and tarnish the name even more than it already wasn't

The audience already saw how the proton packs worked in the first movie. There's no need to rehash the details again. It is assumed that everyone who sees the second movie has already seen the first.

They didn't do much busting in the first, we saw them take on slimer, which is similar to the courtroom scene. Both films then has a little montage, and both end with them busting the baddie.

I don't know about anyone else, but maybe it seemed a little lacking because in the courtroom scene (which is comparable to the hotel scene in the original) they weren't in full gear so it felt a little..weak. That's how I always felt at least. Theres no more or less busting, it's just that the original had arguably the better scene.

I dunno. The business suit/proton pack combo in that scene makes it unique.

I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?

There kind of was. The problem was that the movie montaged it's way through what could have been some cool scenes. Just like Captain America First Avenger, it gets bothersome.

I'll agree with that. Like the jogging scene, that looked promising. Or the Orrefors Crystal scene, it happens so quickly and then you're like, "Wait, show us more!" Lol. And of course there's the deleted Ray goes crazy scene which I really wish they'd kept.

We should see the reboot, tonight, you know to try it out!

There's about as much as you see in the first movie.

Hell, in this movie you see a total of 3 ghosts get put in a ghost trap. The only time that happens in the original was with Slimer.
