Even 27 years ago when I first saw that part in the movie, it scared the s**t out of me, There's something I always wanted to know, were they the ghosts of the people who were killed in that train?

Definitely the scariest moment of either movie, IMO. Never got people saying this movie was toned down and made for kids when it had moments like that.

I actually never thought about that but that makes sense for those to be the people who died on the train.

Nah, those were the victims of Vigo when he ruled carpathia. That's what he used to do to people. I think Vigo is meant to be a Vlad The Impaler type guy, so it's kind of a tribute to that.

Oh ok, I always thought they were the ghosts of the people that were killed by the train in the 1920's.
