Just watched it
So, what's all the hubbub bub? People seem to really not like this one, but I thought it was fine. Made me laugh several times, and had some interesting new ideas. What's the problem?

shareI've always loved this film as well and never got the hate so many have for it. I think like the original it's aged very well and both movies are tremendously entertaining and rewatchable with a lot of creative energy. Definitely doesn't deserve the hate.

There's still a lot of adult humor ("My best to the coven" and "You're not sleeping with it, are you?", etc.). And it's not like they stuck in some childish nose picking jokes. The tone's just a bit more earnest and childlike (different from childish), and as a result, the stakes feel raised in the story.

Beats me. I think a lot of what's going on in 2 is actually more interesting than the first movie. The river of mood slime running under NYC is bloody brilliant. Lots of fun and funny scenes. The plot with Oscar is a bit of a drag. The concept of the ancient painting with a warlock or whatever he was trying to escape was pretty cool. The Ghostbusters driving around a Statue of Liberty to some feel good music is ridiculously amazeballs. And then.... nothing much comes of it. It cracks open a building and they end up shooting a painting with lasers and goo. It was a totally anti-climatic ending. I think that's why most people are left feeling pretty meh about it all.

You got me, they are my two favorite movies
