If Jason had managed to kill Rennie and Sean and the rest after they all arrived in New York, what would Jason have done afterward?
Would he have found his way back to Crystal Lake or would he have stayed in New York and begun a new killing spree in the Big Apple? The NYPD would have shown up but their inability to kill him would have led to the National Guard being called in. If it turned out this way, it could have been awesome.
I think there is an (offcial?) comic book that describes how Jason gets back to Crystal Lake in The Final Friday after he leaves Manhattan. I can't remember exactly but I think it was something like, he didn't really die in the sewer in Manhattan and escaped through a pipe that lead him out of the sewer, then he starts killing his way across the east coast from New York to Crystal Lake which is what causes the FBI to get involved and set up the sting for him in The Final Friday.

After killing Rennie he probably would have shrugged his shoulders, lit up a cigar, and found his way back to Crystal Lake via the sewer tunnels or some sh$t

If the theory is correct that he was only after Rennie and co. because he had been chasing them since Crystal Lake, and that's why he wasn't bothering anyone in New York (unless they attacked him), then he might well have just made his way back home and waited for more trespassers.
