Where do you think the Baker brothers would be today?

Not just Jack and Frank, but Susie too. Hell, even Blanche.

I think I'd actually like to see a sequel to this - with all three of the original cast, of course. Ideas for the characters, folks?

I love those characters too. There was no follow up to this movie because it did not do well at the box office. In some ways I glad they didn't do a sequel because the movie ended the loose ends so well. But to answer your question: "The Fabulous Baker Boys" reunite with Suzie Diamond and become very successful in the process. Along with the success, they begin to fight with each other and forget the happy people they were before they reunited. With fame comes price. Does being famous define success and happiness? Probably not in my humble opinion.

They'd be winning a VMA only to get interrupted on stage by Kanye West because Harry Connick Jr. "had the best single of all time"!

Promise me, no matter how hopeless things get, keep on trying, OK? Keep coming chin-up, OK?

it's an interesting thought, and just the kind of thing i ponder every time this film rolls credits. (other films too)

i like the 'what if' element that films like this leave the viewer pondering.

geesh, i gotta go update my open-ended list here on imdb

Jack is discovered by a famous Jazz music producer who happened to visit Henry's club and becomes a renowned Jazz Pianist, recording albums and touring the world to a great acclaim.

Susie has some success in singing jingles for commercials, possibly marries the catfood CEO.

Jack and Susie become close friends because Susie was the one that saw the flickering spark in Jack. They sometimes grow distant, but deep down they love each other, and never disappear from each other's life.

Frank's piano tutoring business goes so well he opens a piano school for children in a shopping plaza somewhere in the suburbs, carving out a non-brilliant but stable little business for him and his family to depend on. Frank is also happy for his little brother's success with no bitterness or jealousy at all.

Blanche continues to wait tables. Gets into relationships but ends up getting her heart broken a few times because she is naive and dumb. She ends up single and middle aged but stays sweet and kind to everyone she comes across at the coffee shop, and masks her occasional sadness with a sweet smile.

Acehole "we'll call you" manager continues to manage that little venue until it closes down due to recession. Unable to find a managerial job because of his smarmy personality, he dabbles in selling Amway, which doesn't pan out. Ends up bagging groceries and collecting shopping carts in the parking lot for Vons.
