Why isn't it on DVD?

All I have is a worn, scratchy video of this.... and I lament that it is not available on DVD. Anyone know if it is going to be released in that format?

i wish i had an anwser for you. i love this movie, and its a shame i never see it on tv anymore.

It is on dvd.
Just no out on a Region 1 (us/canada) dvd.

It's out on a Region 2 dvd though, which you can import.

There's even a special edition of it now too.

I know that when this film was release in the United States it was both a critical and commercial flop. That may be what is slowing down a DVD release.

Then explain why Gigli and many other flops are out on DVD in the US?

For the record I LOVE Erik and was one fo the few people in the US to go see it in the theater...a couple times.

Good news the film will be out on dvd on febuary 21 2006. It will be relesed from MGM/Sony. I have no idea if it will be special edition or not.

The Region 0 release (labelled R4) is ten minutes longer than the theatrical version, and is in anamorphic widescreen. It's in the PAL format, thankfully...
