I just heard that this was coming to dvd for region 1. You can pre-order at amazon.
The dvd comes out on the 21 of febuary of 2006.
does anybody know what the extras will be.
I've read that it will be a director's cut, and that it will have a Audio Commentary by Terry Jones.

Amazon still lists it in their "New Releases" Catagory- but the page for it says it is currently unavailable. I wish I knew what was happening with it. I went to Best Buy to get it today and they said they weren't going to carry it at that store. It would be nice to find out what happened.

shareMy order for this DVD has been canceled. After looking on dvdaf.com they still have 2 places listed. One of them has a different cover than whats on dvdaf.com. It appears that either this dvd has been cancelled or will be released at a later date.
shareI just went to the Blockbuster website and they don't have this movie for sale, but you can rent it if you have that blockbuster online deal. At least it's something, right? I have seen this movie real long time ago on VHS. I watched in Brazil, with subtitles in portuguese. It would be a completely different experience to watch it now that I speak English...
Also, there is ONE on ebay that says "Region 1". The auction will end in 4 days and so far there are no bids.
Does anyone know what happened with this? Was the date pushed back or has it been canceled completely?

Sony have cancelled (or at least postponed indefinitely) the release of the Erik the Viking DVD. This REALLY upsets me. I've been waiting for this movie to come out on DVD for YEARS. All I wanna do is give Sony my freakin' money for the DVD (which is supposed to contain commentary from Terry Jones), and they decided they didn't want it.

I'd encourage people to write to Sony Home Entertainment (through snail mail, or if you're lazy like most of us, email) and say, "hey, we want to buy this movie from you! Please sell it to us!"
