Geena Davis' Character Name
I love "Earth Girls Are Easy". It makes me laugh every time I watch it. (OK, I'm easy to please). I'm always looking for a missed joke. I caught on early to the alien language being backwards English. Just recently caught on to Geena Davis'name " Valerie Gale" (Valley Girl). At first I thought it was a reference to The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy Gale) as in "You're not in Kansas anymore", but it was simpler than that.Also, I wonder if her future married name "Valerie Gallagher" was an attempt to rhyme and clue the audience that the doc was not Mr. Right as in "Julia Gulia" (Wedding Singer).
