This movie was TERRIBLE!

And I am a Van Damme fan - I own 4 of his movies on DVD. This one was so low budget and had pretty terrible acting. Try Bloodsport - same budget but much better. Sci Fi just doesn't work with such a terrible script and budget.

Bro...what THE *beep* are you smokin?!?! This film has atmosphere out the ass!!!!

reply

Amen

reply

Naah. Not TERRIBLE. Cyborg took kind of an over-done concept and actually gave it more atmosphere than the first Terminator movie had, i think. The fact that it's set in a post-apocalyptic world makes it way more fun.

reply

Yes, and atmosphere comes out of my ass whenever I fart.
I agree with the initial poster, the movie was terrible. If it was as great as all you people keep making it out to be, explain the 4 stars (rounded) out of ten?
The movie was horrible and should have been burned years ago when it was first made.

reply

Damn straight. Despite being a massive Van Damme fan, I can honestly class this movie as being a genuine piece of crap. It was horribly directed and acted, with characters that no one cared about. It was exceptionally badly written too.

"Raiders of the Lost Ark is the greatest movie of all time."

reply

Yes we all can agree that the directing, writing, and acting we all very badly done (at times it seems as if the director has to feed the lines to jean claude one at a time because his english is so bad at the time), but the movie turned out great. The wonderfully insightful dismal future portrayed considering the movie being produced during the cold war with the threat of a post nuclear war earth not to mention the "plague" which can be attributed to a world outbreak of the then little-known AIDS virus, oh and the creative costumes and weapons were very cheesy yet frightening. Superb!

reply

Yeah this one was pretty bad but I wouldn't say it's terrible just because a few of his fight scenes are well done.

Van Damme's worst movie of all time has got to be "Knock Off". That movie had no real fight scenes and terrible acting. It's like they told him to make his accent worse for that film.

reply

Sure this movie is low-budget and suffers of bad acting but I really like it! I love the atmosphere, the fights are great and it has nice effects. I don't think it's badly directed, it just got his own "style". It's a movie that does look like no others. It could have been just another martial-arts action flick. But where others fail, Cyborg succeeds. Its style and atmosphere make it unique.
