Before anyone jumps on me, I should clarify: I wasn't looking for a clichéd Hollywood ending here. I love plenty of dark endings, mysterious endings etc. The problem to me is that there doesn't seem to be "any" ending in the few Allen films that I've tried. It's one thing to leave ambiguity and quite another to leave loose ends in virtually every subplot of the movie. This film was endearing and interesting enough that I was still able to give it a solid 8, even disliking the ending. I did think that the final professor bit with the speech was a nice poignant wrap-up line.
