[SPOILER ALERT] Did the phone really ring?

The night of the crime, when Judah is standing in his bathroom while Miriam sleeps, the phone rings twice and there is no one there. This happens around 3:00 a.m., yet it does not wake Miriam. Do you think the phone really rang, or was it in Judah's guilty imagination?

I would say yes. Judah was paranoid and anything would set him off.
