nope, there are many-many who like it ... the movie did not get the coverage it deserved - it will always be one of the undiscovered little diamonds of cinema ...

I was 12 when this came out. I did not see it then. But I remember watching it a couple of years later when I was 14. I like it then and I like it now.

I remember seeing it at the theater (and in fact have thought of it as a “Sunday afternoon movie” ever since). Isabella Rossellini is magical, as is, surprisingly, Ted Danson, whom I normally dislike. One of the best on-screen pairings in film history. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge Joel Schumacher fan but consider this his best work and a personal favorite.

Just watched this movie again today - I love it!

I love it. It is a bit of a forgotten gem. One of the few times where an American remake of a French film surpasses the original. Very well directed by Schumacher and perfect casting of the two leads. Actually: all of the cast is great.
