I liked it, but not the last 20 minutes (spoilers)


I really liked the movie until they leave the group meeting... then the movie took this very "optimistic" tone... Whitley thinks he's chosen... he and his wife are getting along... the wife says Whitley might have seen god... Whitley is ready to write the new book.

What has been happening is horrific... now all of a sudden they've found some kind of resolution... hard to buy...

Yeah, they put a happy - really, a slap-happy - ending on it which in no way matches Strieber's own conclusions. The Visitors become mere facilitators for Walken's self-understanding ... or something. Also unforgivable was to hire Walken, whose thick NY accent completely distorts Strieber's Texan origins.
