I am in search of the island this was movie was taped on...

They mention that Dr. Hata filmed this on an island near Hokkiado. I just need to know, what island is this? Hell, even if you just gave me coordinates, I would be greatful. I would like to Google Earth this island and find it, just for the nostalgic purposes that I have <_<. If someone can help me, I will post the pics here (if that is legal) so you can see them. I want to find the waterfalls/the farm/whatever else I can find in the movie.

p.s.- This movie is filmed in nature. If this is true, did the pug really get ont he turtle's back?

Wikipedia says it was filmed in Kitakyushu, Japan..... if all of it was or not, I'm not entirely sure.

Interesting question, never thought of that. I too am a fanatic and would love to see this island on Google earth for nostalgic purposes. If you've found it,plzletme know :(
