nothing 'ORIGINAL' about this soundtrack

Let me start by saying I LOVE this film- I'll let the other intellectuals discern whether or not stunt kitties were used...

my issue is with the soundtrack. There is a TON of ripped off music from Elmer Bernstein's movie, "To Kill a Mockingbird." (the part where the 3 kids were playing to go onto Boo Radley's porch.) Even some of the scary Boo Radley music was used.

Am I think only one that knows these scores that well? I can't imagine Elmer agreed to this before his death. hmmm....

Also, they used part of the music from Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance... the piece was the chorus, "How beautifully blue the sky."

5 years later... but... I agree 200% with you, rondine... I just watched the movie and thought the same thing... "To kill a mockingbird" is my favorite movie, so of course I know the soundtrack very well... :)

I'm so glad someone besides me noticed and heard it!
I still feel vindicated, even 5 years later! Thank you!!! :)

That's the US release, the original Japanese version was scored by Ryuichi Sakamoto. Bought a copy of the soundtrack CD "The Adventures Of Chatran" yesterday and was surprised to learn the film was Milo And Otis.
