Ennio's score

Just a thought:even though I have seen the film numerous times and I tend to consider it is not the best De Palma film or Vietnam-theme centered movie(that does not mean it does not contain VERY powerful moments),Ennio Morricone's music at the closing scene(which occasionally stands in my mind as the main to go through ''Casualties'' one more time)is one of the best works of his.Dream atmosphere, making words useless, showing that something ends and something may begin again, just like the conversation with the girl might lead to ease the pain of the soul.I have heard in the commentary that the chorus voices singing are meant to be the souls of all these people who were killed in the war and they are sort of watching things from above.Brilliant!!!

I first saw this movie when I was about 14. And that score has become burned in my brain. I love it.
