Added to the film are a scene showing Meserve saving Eriksson's life during earlier combat action and a harrowing sequence of the death of Meserve's best army buddy. These are not part of the real record and they appear only in an attempt to humanize Meserve; to make us think he was really a decent sort who merely went off his rocker after too much combat.

Meserve's sentence of 10 years, became 4 years.

Clark's (the guy who stabbed her twice) sentence of 20 years- became 4 years.

Second brother, sentenced 22 months- was released on time served.

American justice.

I know it was disgusting.Eriksson had to go into hiding and became more of a prisoner than they did.

Thank you for posting the link to the article. It sickens me that they served such little time for the rape and murder of another human being. Just another example of how life is very unfair sometimes.

it's disgusting that someone who gets caught with a pot plant receives a harsher sentence than a rapist murderer
