What Actor Did John C Reilly Replace?

I heard John C Reilly was hired as an extra but when Brian DePalma decided to replace the actor who originally played Hatcher, Reilly got the part.

I heard it was a fairly well known actor, does anyone know who it was?

It was Stephen Baldwin. Director Brian De Palma realized Baldwin was not working out, so he brought Reilly in to play the role.

Thanks! Now that I think of it, Stephen Baldwin probably looked a little too much like the actor who played Clarke which may have confused the audience.

Really? I don't see the resemblance. Stephen Baldwin's a handsome guy.

I can imagine him in the role; but Reilly's a great actor and he did a fine job.
