Why didnt Erikson tell anyone that Capt. Hill didnt care about the rape?

Erikson never seemingly tells anyone including the Chaplain and the tribunal that Capt. Hill did not care about Meserve and the boys raping that girl and murdering her, tried to get him not to report it so he wouldnt have to deal with it and gave him hell for even bringing it t his attention.

Hill was a major POS and his unprofessional attitude was horrible, he even whines and complains when they find the girls body later too "You couldnt let it rest could you, you just had tp push it." and Erikson shuts him up by saying "Go to hell, Sir!" and he looks shocked and doesnt say anything, no way he could punish him for saying that.

He should have told the Chaplain or another person in the Chaplains corps about the rape first, that would have gotten it attention, Hill was weak and wasnt going to do anything.

I just wonder how Erikson explained hitting Clarke in the head with the shovel, "Is it true that you assaulted Clarke by hitting him in the head with a shovel?" "Yes sir, but he tried to frag me while i was in the latrine and i barely survived." that would be a fun conversation to see.

In the military to rule is to go up the chain of command.

I was surprised that at no time was the concept of an illegal order brought up.
