...and it is; but it really has a nice optimistic view of what the future could be like. Even the music that plays when they go to the future kind of reinforces that. Its too bad that it will only be remembered as the silly comedy that launched Keaneau Reeves career.
shareI just watched it last weekend for the first time in years. I don’t know why people look down on it; yeah the protagonists aren’t intelligent but they’re at least nice, harmless people not shown doing anything wrong during the film. You can tell the film makers are intelligent, it was rather clever dialogue with Socrates and the iron maiden scene was hilarious. Like you said it had a positive outlook especially having a nice future.
