Original concept of Batman
A vigilante. Kind of a rip off of the Shadow and Zorro. Rich playboy with a secret past which caused him to fight crime. The parents being murdered idea came later. Used a gun sometimes. Killed some of his enemies henchmen. Not in self defense. No mention of body armor in those days. Even his being a master martial artist and detective came later.
