New outlook on Part 2

I've always considered this one to be the weakest in the trilogy, even though I've still always loved it. But somebody recently put this entry into perspective for me and I think I have a newfound appreciation for it.

The person said they like this one a lot because it has the most "time travel" out of all of them. And besides Doc accidentally getting hit at the end, it's all intentional. Each travel, they set out to accomplish a mission, set the date and go on an adventure and experience the consequences. It's what I'd imagine a series of Marty and Doc would've been like. In the other two, it seems a bit more incidental, they get stuck, and the main mission is finding a way to use the machine to get back home.

Thinking of it in these terms, I feel I appreciate more what is going on in this one.
