I didn't like the Needles character

The guy who played him is a bad actor and was just annoying. They should have made him Biff's son (Biff obviously has a son considering he has a grandson Griff).

It was more of a publicity stunt than anything. He was played by the bassist from Red Hot Chili Peppers: Flea. Probably why his acting wasn't top notch.

reply

I didn't even know that. Cool!

reply

Yeah that acting was really bad, it should have been revealed that Biff had a son in the new timeline after Marty came back from 1955 named Riff or whatever, and he should have taken place of the Needles character.

reply

Yeah. I had always assumed Needles was supposed to be Biff's son.

reply

It never occurred to me.

reply

He wasn't

I went to work a RHCP concert and stopped for lunch on the way. I watched a documentary on them while I had lunch. Just some YouTube video.

Anyway, when the band was on stage, I was more like "wow that's flea" than caring about Anthony.

I don't really see it as a big issue. He was only on screen for a couple of minutes in the second movie and a couple of minutes in the third, so it doesn't really spoil the film or anything. He didn't need to be that amazing an actor. He was acceptable for the part he had, he wasn't overly hammy or anything.

Saying that, I'm not really sure why they bothered having a cameo appearance from the guy from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The Huey Lewis one, I understand. Because he did some of the songs in the first movie. And it sort of worked as an in-joke, a pop-star who would've been known at the time telling Marty his music was too loud.

However, having a guy from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers in the second and third movie just seems a bit random. Not saying he shouldn't have been there, or anything. Just never really understood why they bothered to do it. It's such a small role, and from what I understand, they weren't advertising it heavily as a way of getting people to watch it. I've always just wondered why it was him rather than some up and coming actor. (No disrespect to the guy.)

He was horrible, even the few minutes he was on the screen almost ruined the entire movie. It should have been Biff's son.

He was great - had that scumbag face and shit eating grin. Perfect casting.
