Brad Johnson/ The Hunk!!!

Always was a wonderful movie, but the best part of the entire movie was watching Brad Johnson be the gorgeous do gooder, as well as the absolute Hunk!! dressed as a robber barron, his face is to die for, and he is just so incredibly handsome!!!!...His looks were my favorite part of the movie!!!

I have to admit that I discovered Always for a single reason and believe me it is not because of Spielberg, but because of the magical (but short) presence of Audrey Hepburn. She was 60 and still the beautiest. And her voice... wonderful.

Have fun

reply

Yeah, same here. Audrey Hepburn is the most lovely actress ever worked in Hollywood. :-)

I used to date a guy who looked remarkably like Brad Johnson - in fact, his last name WAS Johnson. I have fond memories of one of my first loves whenever I watch this movie. He is very yummy!

reply

Hehe yeah, I guess he WAS kind of good looking...I like when the Holly Hunter character said something about how she couldn't date him because he was too beautiful..

I still like Pete better, though...

stupid R.D. crush will just not go away...

I can see why you all loved Brad Johnson- because of his attractivness- but did you look at his own performance? While this is a wonderful film, Johnson is miscast. Spielberg is not very successful in directing him, especially when Johnson starts trying to impersonate John Wayne. Embarrassing.

I liked the John Wayne impression! I think the whole idea was to see Johnson as a gigantic goof, despite his matinee idol looks. The whole dinner scene with he and Hunter is priceless - it's the the only time he comes across with any sureness of himself.

I liked the John Wayne impression. It made him look human and fallible, rather than perfect and wax work like.

The whole point is that he is SUPPOSED to suck at the impressions. That's how come Dorinda could not identify who he was trying to imitate when they were in the jeep together.

This would be a great movie if not for Brad Johnson. He has no charisma whatsoever. He's just a big chiseled goofball. I understand the character is supposed to be a bit odd, but with a good actor, it would seem like he actually had some characteristics in him that would eventually attract Dorinda. I never heard before that Tom Cruise turned down the part...probably because he didn't want to play a pilot again. Thinking about it now, I wonder if it wouldn't have worked ten times better with Cruise in the role.

He came across as very natural. The impression was bad on purpose, because even though he's handsom af, he's still a dork and flawed.

I think you meant, to say "Red Baron". Or Snoopy.

I saw this film, which is not one of Stevo's best, years ago. This Brad Johnson stud is so absolutly devoid of any acting ability, it will leave you in a state of shock. Imagine this load got 3rd billing in a Spielberg movie? Steven must have done an 8 ball with Dreyfuss when he cast this lug.

He's a dream indeed!
