Nightmare hell scene

Is it true that so many people "distinctly remember" seeing Charlie's body (and possibly also an extended Hell nightmare) in the theatrical cut?

reply

I remember something about a story regarding that, but my memory's a little hazy.

A pretty late reply, but I vaguely remember seeing Charlie's body flying when the car hit him. Then again, I was a kid, so I can't be too sure if I remember it correctly. :P

Someone posted a longer cut of the nightmare scene on YouTube. Not much was edited out but it definitely would have been far more traumatizing.

I kind of wish that edition was available. I think there is footage from The Land Before Time that was deemed unsettling for children and was completely thrown out.

If Bon Scott of AC/DC was still alive, he would be a Brony.

But unfortunately, it's a point-and-shoot version.

I saw this movie in the theater as a kid and distinctly remember there being a (very brief) hell sequence, where Charlie enters a cave with a bunch of burning lava beneath him and he freaks out and runs away, clinging onto something and then he gets transported out (as though it was just some nightmare or a vision). I remember it being just one shot long and it was definitely there because it was the most surprising, hence memorable thing about the film (along with that line "you can never come back!"). Did they remove that from the film or am I totally remembering it wrong?
