Dont know how Cameron gets away with showing tatas and cursing.
How does he do it? Titanic, The Abyss

shareIt's called censorship and fortunately most amazing movies that really move the envelope toss censorship out the window. If "tata's" and "cursing" offend you, you should go back to watching 19 Kids and Counting with those retarded mormons.
Also, you should stop trolling.

Wow, you're an idiot. I was asking how he can get away with showing/saying that while still maintaining a PG-13 rating in most of his films. In other films it would get an R rating. You obviously didn't read the question right.
shareYou can get away with showing brief nudity in a PG-13 rated movie provided it's in a non-sexual context.
And I believe you can get away with at least one "f" word, though recently they may have moved it up to two, provided it's used in a non-sexual way. So "let's get the *f@ck* out of here" would be okay, whereas "hey babe, let's go *f@ck*" wouldn't.
As far as other, non-obscene curses like *sh!t* or "damn", I believe the MPAA is okay with them.
Basically, where the MPAA is concerned, anything to do with sex - or drugs - is bad.

Not that I agree with the OP's post and not that I don't agree with yours, but throwing the "retarded mormons" bit in your post makes you come across as a major prick.

The MPAA are a bunch of prudes and the whole thing should be heavily reformed. Their censorship is *beep*
If you don't understand or don't believe me of how full of crap they are, watch This Movie Has Not Been Rated.
What about The Medicine Man and The Bounty? The Bounty has seriously suggestive sexual themes and more nudity than just about any non-porn films and it got PG (in 1984!)
It's all about placement and circumstance of normally questionable content.
Is it just me, or was the 80's more liberal in giving the PG-rating?
Well, the PG-13 rating didn't exist until 1985. Before then, PG rated movies were kind of the equivelant to what PG-13 rated movies are these days. Even after the PG-13 rating came around it took a while for the "one non-sexual F-word" rule to not be okay for PG movies. The PG-13 rating was started because it was felt there should be a middle ground between PG and R, since movies like Gremlins and Temple of Doom had "a little too hard for PG" content but "hardly bad enough for R" type stuff in it. A LOT of PG-13 movies of today would've gotten a PG back in the day with NO controvery at all. But nowadays you hardly see PG rated films and are generally considered to be for kids movies. In 1972 Conquest for the Planet of the Apes caused a lot of stir for it's violence at the test screenings, and the documentary of the Planet of the Apes films makes a point to say it got a PG rating because of the controversy (ALL the other Apes films got G ratings).

They seem to be allowed to show breasts if the women are of native tribes. Even though the women in those movies were clearly not natives. Their breasts were too nicely shaped. Not like in the National Geographic when I was an adolescent.
shareWell, Mary Mastrantonio's boobs were shown in a totally non-sexual way, which I think explains why The Abyss isn't Rated R. Kate Winslet's in Titanic though, different story.
shareI wonder did Cameron force/pressurise her to show them or what considering the story of him telling her to piss in her wetsuit of GTFO his set?
Maybe why she said it was difficult shoot?
The Abyss was not the first PG-13 movie where boobs were shown and/or had an f-bomb, and Titanic wasn't the last. Sixteen Candles had both and only got a PG rating. Beetlejuice is another PG-rated movie with an f-bomb, and that was well after PG-13's were given.
Are we beginning to see the possibilities here?
Context.
The Abyss - the scene is non-sexual, saving someone's life
Titanic - the scene is non-sexual, drawing artistic nudity
"All the President's Men" had about a half dozen "F" words and was rated PG. Again, a movie with zero violence and sex, and that's why they could do it. And, it was the seventies.
shareTata's are what you see when you pull a persons shirt open. They'll cut off the bra normally. You need the person bare.
Get the shirt of the victim off. Decorum is not necessary when someone is DRT. Get compressions going and don't stop until they're cold and dead. If they're already cold, don't stop until they're warm and dead. Count to "Another one bites the dust" and don't stop until a doctor codes them.
In the movie, he only does compressions for a few minutes. Until she's at least ambient, keep going. Get some warming blankets on her until she's pushing 90 degrees at least.
They should have been doing compressions for forever until she was warm and dead.
It's shocking how often people live after long submersion in cold water. My best friends kid was dead on scene from falling into a pond in winter. His starting CPR immediately kept his kid alive and he's doing fine 18 years later.
Keep trying. If the body is cold, get 'em warm and keep up compressions. Especially when they're a kid.
