New DVD set coming, but still not the 2 + 3 seasons

A New company, TGG Direct, has acquired the rights to The Young Riders and they have previously released a "best of" season 1, volumes 1 & 2 and now have announced a "24 Hour Television Marathon" of Young Riders with the first 16 episodes of season 1 and 4 episodes of season 2 and 4 of season 3.

Hopefully this may mean a future release for the full season sets of Season 2 & Season 3.

Here's the story from TVShowsondvd.com:

The same company is also releasing "24 Hour Television Marathon" sets of In the Heat of the Night, Bat Masterson and Sea Hunt. So maybe we'll see some season sets for those three series sometime soon, too.

Actually, this "marathon" release may be a bootleg and who knows about the quality. . . I do know that I'm not impressed they didn't include most of my favorite episodes of seasons 2 and 3.

20th Century Home Video is putting out ads on YouTube and other places asking for fans to contact them to request FULL TYR season 2 and 3 DVDs. I'd gotten some people to write to MGM earlier this year about DVD releases, and now the letters have made it to the DVD arm of Fox/MGM.

Email to request release of the full seasons is [email protected]. You can also write to 20th Century Fox Home Video, PO Box #900, Beverly Hills, CA 90213-0900.

TVshowsondvd.com is a reputable site and doesn't promote "bootlegs". In fact they have a section on their website so you can check to see if a website is a site that sells bootlegs.

Amazon.com also doesn't sell bootlegs and they have it up to pre-order on their website.

This set is legitimate and there are several others being released in the 24 hour marathon sets like I mentioned above, In the Heat of the Night, Bat Masterson and Sea Hunt

As for the quality, I don't know. The article says that the company putting them out, TGG Direct, is a relatively new company to the DVD market.

Thanks for the response - it's nice to know TGG Direct actually has the rights to the content. In my field, I deal with so many pirates and bootleggers that I am always suspect of "comp" DVD sets.

I'm now writing to TGG to see if they will stop toying with TYR fans and just put out a complete 3 season box set already.
