Young guns came out in 1988 and this wanna be came out in 1989. It was a wanna be Young Guns.

Actually, I read that this series was created before Young Guns but never got picked up. It wasn't until after Young Guns proved popular that the series was then picked up.

Young Guns and Young Guns 2 did not seem that popular and is rated low on this IMDb board. This show was not a Young Guns wanna be. Hell, this show was far more better than that movie. I have watched this show when aired back in the 90's and is revisiting it on the Star Western channel with reruns. This show was great and had lots of potential and wished it had went on for another season after the 3rd. It had great stories during the time of the pony express, the pre civil war and with Josh Brolin as Wild Bill Hickok and Stephen Baldwin as William "Buffalo Bill" Cody.

Young guns was super popular back when it released, it was a cultural phenomenon. This show is a blatant attempt at cashing in on some of the success.
