What are some episodes you can't stand (apart from newer ones obviously)

I mean like, ones from the good days...

I cannot stand that Colonel Homer episode. The concept isn't nearly as funny as the writers thought it was (yeah... colonel homer instead of Colonel Tom Parker... amazing... he's a .... music manager. I'm dying here.)

Plus that annoying singer woman's voice for 30 whole minutes. Just awful. Anyway... also I can't stand "Call of the Wild" from the 1st season. The RV salesman was entertaining then when they actually went on their trip I almost died of boredom. Just such a primitive episode (and I actually LIKE a lot of the eps from season 1)

I absolutely despise "Bart vs. Australia". Not because it made fun of Australians, because, hey, everybody's free game. But this was immature and unnecessarily nasty. It was obvious the writers were a bunch of crybabies whose patriotic pride apparrently got hurt by the whole Michael Fay Singapore controversy.

Point taken but corporal punishment is still legal in America. IIRC, most Americans thought Fay was kind of a punk & had it coming.

This is was the kind of "patriotism" Dr. Johnson was talking about.

I see the episode was written by Oakley and Weinstein, two guys who turned the show into something I wasn't particularly a fan of.

I didn´t care for it either. I´m Australian but it didn´t hurt my feelings or anything just felt a bit gimmicky. That said, I know plenty of Aussies that love that episode.

I used to hate Homer vs New York. Not really sure why because it has many good jokes, but it just used to make me so uncomfortable as a kid.

Well.... I guess it was because Homer's hatred for New York was so.. real

That episode was just a nightmare for him,even if it was a comedic one. There was other "dark stuff" in there too.

At the beginning you see that horrible look in Barney's eyes, when he realises he's gonna miss out on the Duff party thing.

My sister my sitter. Bart was a little jerk that episode. Actually felt bad for Lisa.
Lemon of Troy. I thought it was one of the few duds from season 6. It´s not terrible but felt out of place, that season.
Two Bad Neighbours. Another bad gimmicky episode that was like one big drawn out joke that I didn´t find very clever.
Like father like clown. Krusty and his Dad reunite. Boring.
The Front. Crappy cross promo episode of "the Critic" in S4 that I always skip.

Yeah that was pretty bad. I remember I hated the scene at the end where Lisa just "forgives" Bart for no reason. One time, that episode hit a nerve with me really bad, cause I come from a dysfunctional, pretty much white trash family and have been bullied plenty of times. I posted on this board talking about how I hated that episode (when it was still IMDB, like a year or 2 before they shut the boards) and some sad female poster who spent literally her entire life here on this board - she tried to "insult"/attack me for being affected by a cartoon... I tried explaining to her like "There are lots of scenes in The Simpsons where people said they cried because it was so sweet or something.... why aren't you attacking them?" and she just kept repeating her pathetic self "YEAH BUT IT'S A CARTOON" while unable to digest my argument... lol sad b1tch.

I don't think she made the switch over to these "new" boards thankfully, if she's here then I haven't recognised her username.
