Why are these shows such a mess??

Much as I love SBTB and California Dreams, the timeline for both did my head in! Why could they not, like other normal shows, have seasons that ran into each other seamlessly, with events meshing in properly and making sense? I have both shows on box set and at times I'd watch an episode where say Jake and Tiffani were together and in the next he was flirting with other girls. The same with the couples in SBTB. Events happened that should have been mentioned or continued in further episodes and it was like it never happened. They were all mixed up so badly and it ruins it.

The DVDs have the episodes in airdate order, which has it's problems. For some reason, about 2 or 3 season two episodes weren't aired until season 4. So you have Zack and Kelly back together again long after they broke up with no explanation.

Netflix has them in production order, which has a whole other set of problems, especially in the final season. This is because all the Tori episodes, in reality, were filmed after Theissen an Berkley left the show. So, on Netflix, they all graduate, and then there's still 10 extra random episodes with Tori in them.

There are fansites that actually have compiled "chronological" viewing orders which do make the show make more sense. Even with those orders, it still has problems. The show was made in a day and age where the makers did not consider a home video market where fans could binge the show and scrutinize it so closely online....

Please stop.

I don't know, but I vividly remember even back when the show was still on the air, that it was so confusing. The way it'd be flopping back and forth, Jesse and Kelly are there, now Tori, etc.

But it's things like this, even though accidental (incompetence, dare I say?) that gives SBTB a kind of surreal edge, which is a plus, in my mind.

You got the wrong guy, mang. I don't come off no banana boat.

SBTB The New Class actually does have continuity. If two characters are dating in one episode, then they are dating in the next one. I wish the original would have had a fraction of the continuity that the new class had.

all I can come up with is that they were not supposed to be an indepth look on Zack and his minions -- I mean friends and principal.

they were just little snippits of Bayside High school. the moments that mattered. the important bits.

Oh God. Fortune vomits on my eiderdown once more.

I have no problem with TNBC Hang Time. Julie and Michael started together in season 3 until the end and Kristy and Antonio started together in Season5 until the end, IMO.

They showed the episodes out of order, but the production order doesn't follow any continuity either. It's annoying!
