It's so funny...now that I'm older and know the "background stories" of the cast, when I watch this show now, it's so clear and obvious to me now that something was definitely going on between Zack (Mark) and Lisa (Lark) behind the scenes. (Hehehe....Mark & Lark lol...cute)

I don't know why I never really picked up on it Before. Maybe I was too blinded by the Zack and Kelly romance to see anything else. Or maybe I was just too young at the time to pick up on the subtle clues, but now watching as a grown adult, the signs are obvious that they liked each other and were dating off-screen.

I can tell just by the way Zack would look at Lisa, and interact with her. They had a familiar-ness together that transpired on-screen. It was definitely a different vibe than the one I would get with Zack and Kelly. I can't explain it. Too bad the episode where Zack and Lisa got together only lasted about an episode or two. They dated for quite some time off-camera. They were too sweet. :)

It's pretty obvious when you look at old episodes now. Zack and Lisa definitely had better chemistry together, but their stories were never really written for romance in mind, so that's probably why most people probably don't pick up on it much. But look at the way Zack looks at Lisa when the attention isn't on him. It's pretty obvious he likes her lol.

What's funny is that the dude playing Zack did actually date (in real life) all three girls on saved by the bell at some point. They basically all had feelings for each other, and sometimes fell out over it (something about the girls not speaking to each other because they all wanted Mark-Paul Gosselaar and were jealous over which one had his attention haha). Mario Lopez dated them all as well.

In regards to Mark-Paul & Lark, I actually thought they had the least amount of chemistry. Both of them irl were meant to be very quiet, so they looked almost embarrassed when they had to act out their real life feelings. Zack and Kelly were the most natural couple.

I totally picked up on this too. I was always so disappointed that they only dated for one episode.

I totally agree OP!! Seasons 3 & 4 are so obvious. There was always little cute smiles and touches between them. They were adorable.

Yeah, he was hitting that for a few years I think. They dated for a pretty long while, but it makes sense since they essentially grew up together.

I thought it was weird that Lisa and Zack took all that trouble in that one episode in which they kissed to convince Screech to move on and that they liked each other more than friends and then...nothing!
