Dustin Diamond actually tried out for the part of Shaggy for the Scooby Doo movie.

For some reason when Dustin came back and did The New Class he turned his Screech character into a poor man's, mentality ill version of Shaggy Rogers from Scooby Doo - he started saying 'Zoinks!!' all the time, even his voice changed to a really weird high(er) pitched, cartoony Shaggy voice - it was annoying as *beep*
Dustin seemed sorta obsessed with playing Shaggy back then, in his crappy book Dustin seemed really bitter about Mathew Lillard getting the role in the live action Movie because according to him he (Dustin) was somehow responsible for the live action Scooby doo film being made in the first place (yeah right) and I guess in his crazy mind he also deserved it because he played a crappier version of Shaggy in the New Class or something - what an idiot.
