Any of the shows ever based on events in your area?

I'm not sure that the re-enaction was filmed where I was, but they did an episode on a bus accident in Smyrna, DE where I used to live. A girl was ran over by a bus, broke her pelvis and collar bone, other stuff. Because of that, they now have those safety bar things that swing out in front of the bus to hold children back.

There was one show that was based it Fort Lauderdale (where I used to live).
But I no longer live there.

One show was based in Missoula, Montana, which is where I've lived since 1992. They did a story about a dog that took a spill into the Clark Fork River that runs through the north side of Missoula. The dog had severe hypothermia and had to be treated at a veteranarian hospital in Missoula. The dog would later survive.

They did one in Blountville, Tennessee (about 20 minutes from where I live). That one was also about a little girl getting run over by a school bus. I remember when the incident actually happened. I was in kindergarten and they went over bus safety a lot because of that.

i am from the Cincinnati,Ohio area,Mine was filmed in Milford and another episode was taped about five minutes from my home in Loveland,it was about a child that fell on either a pair of scissors or while a toothbrush was in his mouth and had to be air flighted to tthe hospital.Either way ouch!

The episode which i believe was the final one they ever aired, where a child was riding with his dad in a truck in the walmart parking lot and the door came open and the child fell out. it was in rockford, illinois and my mom works at that walmart and was working there when it happened. unfortunately and sadly the child did die from the injuries after he was recovering.

Hmm none that I can think of. I think their might have been a few in Phoenix, AZ which is about an 1 1/2 from where I live.

Do you by any chance know of any links to the update on this story? I did a Google search, but came up with nothing.
I would also like to add that I watched this segment and it totally breaks my heart to hear that the little boy passed away...especially when you see everyone pulling for him. I did notice at the end of the segment that he suffered from slight brain damage, but to hear that he DIED is really tragic. My heart goes out to his loved ones and friends.
The story reminds me of something that happened in my workplace about a year and a half ago. I also work for Wal-Mart, and one night, a little boy walked in front of a car passing by in the parking lot. The car was unable to stop in time, and the boy got hit. He was taken to the hospital, but miraculously, he survived.
ALWAYS use caution when walking through any area with oncoming traffic. Even if you're the most careful person in the world, there are always those idiots who don't pay attention to what they're doing. And if you have kids, don't let them out of your sight. Hold their hand the WHOLE time you're in the parking lot with them.
Trust me, my mom's a real stickler on this--her and my uncle were both hit by cars when they were little. Luckily, their injuries weren't too severe and they made complete recoveries.

They did a episode on the Jet crash at a El Toro air show. I was there in the crowd when that happened. My dad was working that day as well, he's a Marine.

Yes, one in which a child fell out of a window, it really happened very, very close to where I was living at the time.

I lived across the street from the kid who got stuck in the pool filter (in Sacramento)

Yes, four in fact!

1. Richmond, VA (used to live there)- Gunmen holding up a Red Roof Inn
2. Charlottesville, VA (family lives there)- a kid saves dad fallen off a cliff
3. Mathews, VA (family lives there)- a dispatcher chokes on candy.
4. Norfolk, VA (family lives there)- a kid swallows a marble

I remember 1,2, and 3 in particular.

I believe there was one where a robber broke into a liquor store and got so drunk that he couldn't get out and had to call 911 for help. It sounded very similar to an incident that occurred in the LA area where I was living at the time.

A family with lots of kids suffered from carbon dioxide poisoning in Roseville, MN. At the time it aired I don't think I lived there yet, but I saw a the clip recently.
