Show’s title is misleading
Quantum means “the smallest possible discreet unit of any physical property.” The phrase “quantum leap” means “the smallest possible leap.” It’s an ironic phrase that has become completely misused.

Quantum as an adjective means large or significant.
shareQL, or Quantum Leap, is a computer system created in the 1980s by Sir Clive Sinclair of ZX Spectrum fame, which was business-oriented.
Often times words or sayings get misquoted often enough, that people often forget what the original term meant and over time, the misquote becomes the official meaning.
People do use Quantum Leap to mean a gigantic jump, even if that's not the original intended meaning.
I'd hardly put the blame on the show for that.
