Reminds me of "Driving Miss Daisy". I absolutely love this episode.

The movie, sure. But the movie Driving Miss Daisy was based on a well-known play that had been a huge hit. The first production of that play opened in New York in 1987, over two years before the episode "The Color of Truth" aired. This episode is clearly heavily inspired by the plot of Driving Miss Daisy.
