I don't know if it was even Quantum Leap however I remember being scared by a scene when I was a child which I think may have been from this show. The character Sam is playing turns around to see a lady stood in the dark doorway before the door then slams closed. I think then there may have been a fire at the end of the episode where the face of the woman is seen in the fire? It's driving me crazy trying to remember what these scenes are from.
shareI know exactly the episode you're thinking of, as I was just watching it last week on my iPad at the gym. It's the episode "One Little Heart" from season five. It's part 1 of a three parter. Sam leapt into a sherriff in a small town who has to protect the daughter of the guy he leapt into after the daughter, Abigail, is accused of murder. After re-watching it, the trilogy is one of my favorite set of episodes in the series.

Haven't seen that episode in many years but i recall being spooked by that very same scene.I believe it was Meg Foster and her mesmerizing eyes that played the lady in the dark doorway if i'm not mistaken.
