This show should be remade
I think this show could be remade today. It's a great show and I think it can be very educational. Could help teach people about the past in an entertaining way!

shareEspecially with everything that's happened in the 23 years since the show went off the air. Imagine a fictonalized account of Sam leaping back to 9/11/01 to try and stop the terrorists from bringing down The World Trade Center.
shareThat goes against everything the show is about. Notice how he never changed any major things. The wrongs he made right did have a domino effect to a point but he never changed anything that would affect a lot of people at one time. I mean the one time they were even in that realm was the Lee Harvey Oswald episode and they stopped short of him saving the President.
shareUhhh.. Yah they sort of did... Remember the JFK episode? They stopped Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis from getting killed..

No. Just no.

I can think of a dozen poor remakes. The only positive remakes I can think of are the films "The Fly" and "The Thing" (only the John Carpenter one).

I would add to that list King King (the one with Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange...mainly BECAUSE of Jessica Lange (rowr!)), and The Toy.
Not a remake, but a sequel, like Bellasarius wanted to originally do. Have one last episode where Sam Leaps home...or meets another Time Traveler who used other methods (eg. Marty McFly in a DeLorean) and knows who Sam is (maybe through high tech glasses...think "They live (1988)" can see Al and see Sam for who he really is. ANd possibly....help Sam get home because the time traveler would not be bound by Quantum Leap's rules....suppose the time traveler (let's call him Marty) is from the distant future when QUantum Leap has become declassified. He could spill his guts to anyone about it.
