QUANTUM LEAP IS COMING BACK!!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXzq0JawzLY

With thhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXzq0JawzLYe success of the ‘Dallas’ and ‘Arrested Development’ comeback the popular 80’s sci-fi show ‘Quantum Leap’ will make a surprise return early 2018.

James Van Der Beek is set to star as Dr. Sam Beckett’s son who embarks on a quest to leap through time in order to find his estranged father. Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell will both return to their iconic rolls.

It’s been 28 years since the show was abruptly cancelled back in 1993, never getting the ending the fans deserved. Over the years there have been rumors of a movie, but as with many rumors it was just wishful thinking for 'Quantum Leap' fans. Now it seems fans of the series will get to see Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) once again leap through time “putting right what once been wrong” as ‘Dawson’s Creek' star James Van Der Beek plays the time traveler’s son who follows in his father’s footsteps, leaping through time in order to finally bring Sam Beckett home.

Like most fans of the show we eagerly await for more info on the development of this surprise comeback of ‘Quantum Leap’.

I'll believe it when I see it. Also, whoever wrote this article needs an editor. Spelling errors galore.

Must be an old article because it says its been 13 years since Quantum leap was cancelled. its now 20 years so the article is outdated

that would be hard considering sam fathered a daughter not a son!

I always thought a good continuation story would be to learn that Sam had a son with Donna, conceived during his brief leap back; and this child goes back to find Sam. An important dynamic of the show was juxtaposing the reality of what the audience saw - an adult white male - being placed into a context where, because of the sex or race the people on the show saw him as, he was treated differently than if they had seem him for who he really was. Because he was someone for whom history, over the last 60-70 years at least, saw little adversity, compared to any other race or gender; it made what Sam was face with stand out more. There was conflicts for Sam leaping into a woman, because of the double standards that can be found throughout recent history, and even still today; a show with a female leaper (ostensibly Sam's daughter) could still explore those conflicts, but without as great of contrast to how their male counterparts are treated. Even in terms of the humor found in Sam struggling to pass himself off as a believable woman; the inverse of a woman trying to act like a man, dress in men's clothes, wouldn't create either the same level of difficulty or the sense of someone out of their element or comfort zone.

That's what I was thinking too....the time Al & Sam switched & Sam remember he was married to Donna...that time they had together could've ended with Donna being pregnant...remember Sam asked her if he'd done anything to cause her pain, and Donna replied No, that she understood Sam does what needed to be done....

I don't think so.

I seen that episode and the Trilogy where Sammy Jo said she would not forget him and was working on project QL at the end of part 3 of the trilogy. What better way for a come back movie to bring Sam home is for either or both Sammy Jo and his son, with the help of Al, to go leaping in time to find Sam and to finally bring him home. Al did tell Sam that no matter what, he would do whatever it took.

reply

For Sams son to go quantum Leaping to bring back Sam then it's a matter of age! since Donna conceived Sam junior then it would realistically require Al to have aged AT LEAST 20 years so as Sam jnr could plausibly quantum leap as a 20yr old, I cannot see Al aiding in the return of his good friend Sam when at worst he'd be an old age pensioner/admiral.

Highly doubt this premise is true!

James Van Der Beek? Like seriously?

Yes. He will be great.

They brought Dallas back? Wasn't the original bad enough?

I'd like to see a new Quantum Leap, but I'm unsure about James Van Der Beek. Scott Bakula wasn't well known when the show came on, maybe they should get someone currently unknown, it will get rid of the "oh not that guy!" attitude.

And now for something completely different...

It would please many fans of this great series to finally get some answers on Sams whereabout, answer questions on the Evil leapers and finally get Sam home and then reboot the series by replacing Sam and Al with some other Leaper.

Original Dallas was #1 in the ratings for several years & was on-air for 14 seasons.

You don't remain on-air for 14 season by being "bad."

James Van Der Beek would be great. Hopefully it's true. A Quantum Leap return is long overdue.

Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) once again leap through time “putting right what once been wrong”

I think the show is going to be called Kwanzaa Leep then.

reply

If this info was to be true then I would be happy .

OP is trolling. Yes, it would be great but there are no plans to bring it back.
